About Our Apples
Our delicious Honey Crisp apples are Colorado grown. Harvested at the prime of ripeness from Wag’s World Orchards in Eckert, these semi-sweet apples have a crisp crunch.
History
The Greeley After Hours Rotary Club’s Apple Fundraiser began in 2016 to raise additional funds to help fund ongoing local and international projects.
About GARC
The Greeley After-Hours Rotary Club is a group of service-minded individuals who meet Tuesday evenings at the Poudre Learn Center. Guests are always welcome.
What is Rotary?
Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who come together to make positive, lasting change in communities at home and abroad.
Projects Supported by Apple Sales
Here is a short list of some of the local and global projects supported by the proceeds of the apple sales.
Malawi Solar Lights
We purchased solar lights for rural schools and teachers homes in Malawi, Africa. We originally supplied 160 lights in 2014. We are trying to obtain a Global grant to supply more lights to this country that lives in darkness.
Global Projects
In addition to our Malawi Solar Light project, the Greeley After-Hours Rotary Club is also involved with an educational project currently underway in Honduras.
Senior Baskets
Our cornerstone local project — every year, the Greeley After-Hours Rotary Club assembles and distributes Christmas baskets to senior citizens in need in our community.
Teacher Valentines
Working with the Interact Club from Northridge High School, we put together Valentine’s Gift Bags with special notes from the students for teachers in the local school district.
